A lot of people ask me: “What do sleddogs do in summer?” And I usually answer them that summer is a resting time for the dogs, as they need to recover from another hard winter working season.
So what do they do? Most of them just like to have a lay in, enjoy a late breakfast and hang around the rest of the day. Some of them like to take out the boat and go for a cruise – personally, I believe it’s a lot about making a cool impression on the other dogs…
The small red dog on the front right is my hunting dog Dorak.
Well, I’m off to the mountains for a week or so, hiking the Padjelanta-trail of 150 km. Soon it will be autumn again, time to start training!
